What does one do when clients collect large scale contemporary art yet purchase a home that has rooms that are practically all windows? For our Scarsdale, NY clients, creating a backdrop for their growing art collection was a high priority. We knew that we wanted a warm neutral backdrop to highlight their collection and literally had to create the space to hang it. In their massive living and dining room, walls of curtains were installed with a hidden track and cable system behind the crown molding to hang art from. The curtains can be moved open or closed based on the size of the work being displayed, Comfort was also key for this home, our clients wanted to be able to entertain formally, and well as host more casual events, or just be able to curl up on the living room sofa and watch TV.
